In South Florida – especially Miami, renting is the obvious choice over buying for the foreseeable future. A new report emphasizes this trend by showing how frustrated local sellers are “yanking” their homes off the market, making an already tight market even tighter.
MarketWatch, citing data from Realtor.com, reports that delistings are rising faster than the number of homes being listed for sale. It noted how South Florida stood out among U.S. metro areas with “elevated shares of delisted homes.”
“The increase in delistings is ‘an early signal that sellers may be losing patience in a market that’s taking longer to deliver desired offers,’” according to MarketWatch. One agent interviewed in the piece is advising sellers that “it could even take up to six months for it to sell, but you need to have a plan.”
On the buyer side, inventory getting even tighter means near-term pricing relief is not in the cards. Why deal with all that stress when you can rent at a brand-new Miami building like Douglas Enclave instead?
