An emerging national real estate trend is the rise of the “rentvester,” or someone who rents in a major city – such as Miami – while purchasing a residential investment property elsewhere. This is a great way to begin building wealth through real estate ownership without having to compromise on lifestyle.

A new Realtor.com piece elaborates on the concept of “rentvesting,” describing it as “the strategy of renting your primary residence in one city while purchasing an investment property elsewhere to rent out—either as a short- or long-term rental.” One real estate agent recommends targeting secondary markets with “low buy-in, high potential, [and] strong rental demand.”

This approach especially makes sense in Miami, which made recent headlines due to the prevalence of frustrated sellers pulling their homes off the market. That is making an extremely tight for-sale market even tighter, so buyers cannot expect any near-term pricing relief.

Renting at Douglas Enclave is the most sensible option today, offering the best of the Miami lifestyle and amenities often found in luxury condominium buildings. For aspiring rentvesters, renting at Douglas Enclave while investing in property outside of the Miami market is a true win/win!

Douglas Enclave is an 11-story, 199-unit building with brand-new Little Havana apartments available for rent. It includes a thoughtful mix of studio apartments, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms and townhomes for rent. Individual apartments feature vinyl-wood flooring, open-concept kitchens, stackable washer/dryer units and efficient appliances.

Additional building amenities include a club lounge, bike racks, gated parking garage and a package delivery room. Douglas Enclave is extremely transit-friendly and located next to a Coral Gables Trolley stop.

Little Havana is one of Miami’s most popular neighborhoods to live in because of its convenient location, rich history, culture and many things to do. The neighborhood is perfectly positioned near the world-class shopping and dining of downtown Coral Gables, and a short drive from Miami’s bustling Brickell financial district.
